Secrets of Success

Everyone marvels at what it takes to become successful. So do I. Let’s share what I’ve read today, which I think it is definitely the keys of success.

1.) Practise Absolute Integrity - Always do the right thing & always maintain your integrity in all you do.

2.) Take Responsibility For Your Life – Take control of your life & once you start taking responsibility for all that happen to you, you will become better at coping in all areas of your life.

3.) Be Patient & Persistent – Persistence is the remedy that will deal with failure, to persist is to try again until you get the desired result.

4.)Think Positively – How you think affects everything you do. A person’s mindset determines how far they will go in life.

5.) Work Hard – The willingness in putting in the proper hours to work at the thing you want to be successful in.

6.) Stay Focused – Focusing requires giving up some things in the present because you know the time invested will pay off big time down the road.

7.) Step Up to Slip-Ups – Take responsibility & never finger point. No one is perfect but what makes a successful person different is how they handle their slip-ups, so own up & learn from it!

8.) How Have You Been Doing Things – Ask yourself this when you seem to hit the wall all the time. Work smartly & knows when you need to do things differently.

9.) Deliver Your Promises – Always do what you say you are going to do, even if it’s a simple thing like returning someone’s call. Executing on the little things is essential to ensuring big things.

Stubborn = Determined

Mandy is a fresh graduate & eagerly looking for a job. One day, she was called for an interview.
( After review Mandy’s resume for 2 minutes, )

Interviewer : Mandy, since you are a fresh graduate with no experience, I am afraid you are not the one that we are looking for.

Mandy : I understand that I don’t have any working experience but I am good in financing. Perhaps an opportunity could be given in proving that I can contribute to your good company? ( Mandy is not giving up. )

Interviewer : ( After think for a while ) Maybe you are right. Well, let us have a small test.

Mandy was given a task about financial & she has done it in 30 minutes with full of confidence.
Interviewer : Yes, you did a good job. Let me discuss with my Manager. ( The interviewer was impressed ).

After 5 minutes, Mandy was called to meet the HR Manager. HR Manager goes through Mandy’s resume again and learn that she is just a fresh graduate.
HR Manager : Mandy, do you have any working experience?

Mandy : No sir, I just graduate but I believe I could make a great contribution to your good company if the opportunity is given.

HR Manager : Ok Mandy, we would consider and give you a call once we have decided. ( The Manager has no intention to hire Mandy ).

Mandy : Thank you sir. Here is 2 dollars. Please call me no matter how the news is going to be.

HR Manager : What is this 2 dollars for? ( The Manager was confused ).

Mandy : A company will only call the qualified candidate. I would be glad I am accepted but if I don’t, you have no obligation to call me. Anyhow, I would bear with the telephone charges and please do call me even I am rejected.

HR Manager : Why you still want me to call you even you won’t be hired?

Mandy : I would appreciate if you could call and tell me the reason for refusing me so that I know how to do better next time.

HR Manager : Hahaha…Girl, you could save your 2 dollars. ( The Manager was laughing and started to change his mind. )

Mandy : Why?

HR Manager : We are not going to call you because…. you are hired right now!

Mandy was rejected at the beginning but she still request for second chance, as she believes she has advantages in financing. The HR Manager still refuses to hire her even she did well in the task given. Mandy is an honest girl and never lie of her working experience. She knew that the Manager would not call her but she still request for a ring. Eventually, the Manager was impressed with her sincerity and determination even he was frustrated of Mandy’s stubborn at the beginning.

So, don’t forget to get 2 dollars ready when you go for an interview. ^o^

Office Invisible Art

Reading definitely makes people grow. Reading makes me think, analyze, cry & laugh too. Lets share what I’ve learn today which has brighter my day.

Art of Being Scolded

· Does your boss / manager ever gets angry and scolds you on some mistakes you have done?
· If you did, don’t be sad. You have to believe, they scold you because of your IDENTITY & CAREER but not because of YOU.
· If someone, who is at the same position as you, he will face the same fortune too.
· For example, Joseph is a Manager Assistant. The manager is scolding at “The Manager Assistant” but not Joseph. If, Robert the Manager Assistant, he wills still been scolded.

So, don’t be upset and don’t hide yourself & cry in the washroom, when the manager yells to you. He was just scolding at the “person who did the mistake” but not the individual – YOU.

New Year For New Job?

I’ve worked for present company for 5 Years and 2 months ( I’ve never though that I can stay for in this company so long ) Sometimes, I will take a break , look around my office and ask myself? Will these last for another 5 years? Are you doing the same too? Have you ever feel that your present employment is not bringing out the best in you?

I feel doubt every time when we have friends’ gathering ( especially the busy buddies ) How’s life? Starter’s question. “ Well, everything is remaining the same, except the size – body shape.” I really got bored when all the conversations have to end up with same question and sadly same answer – for 5 years!

When you get to know others are running life better than you do, you will definitely think to jump out from your “little frame”, seeking for a life revolution. Isn’t it?

1.) Why her pay is higher than mine even I’ve been working longer than she does?
2.) Why my friends have 3 months bonus while I get nothing?
3.) Why she is driving BMW while I am still with my poor Kancil?
4.) Why she got company’s trip to Europe while I’ve just been to Pedas Resort?

Should I move the step to welcome a new change? “ Don’t simply jump out from your little frame unless you have well planned for a bigger room.” This is an advice from a friend of mine. But when will be the best time to say goodbye to my old job? I’ve read a magazine recently and note down the below points. Perhaps you can study on it too.

You can leave your old employment WHEN :~
1.) You wanted to start your own business. ( Be your own boss, but where to find the modal? )
2.) You got an opportunity to work in a well-respected market leader. ( Where the company can provides better benefits than the old one. At least a trip to Bali Island? )
3.) You needed a break. ( Go for a long vacation to recharge your energy or get married, I guess. Unfortunately no accompany yet L )

So, what do you think? I wish I meet one of the above, unfortunately that is a NO. Honestly, I felt frustrated to make a move step because I realized “THE GRASS IS NOT ALWAYS GREENER ON THE OTHER SIDE” Good Luck.
